Using a Shared Mailbox for the First Time

To send emails on behalf of a shared mailbox, follow this guide:

1. Open Outlook and ensure that the shared mailbox is listed in the left navigation pane:

2. Select 'New Mail' to start a draft for your message, then in the top bar select 'Options'

Classic Outlook may look slightly different, but the options button should still be present.


3. Select the 'Show From' checkbox and then click on 'From' in the email draft, which should present a drop down box.

4. Select 'Other Email Address' and then type in the address of the shared mailbox you have been granted access to.

5. Finish drafting the email as normal, selecting the recipients and then typing your message.

Be sure to check that you have removed your automatic signature from the email if you use one.

Now that you have sent your first email from the shared mailbox, for future emails, you should just have to select the 'From' field in all of your email drafts and it should be listed as an option in the drop down box that appears.
