Multi-Factor Authentication - Microsoft Authenticator Setup

Prerequisites

It’s highly recommended to have the following items to set up MFA:
  1. A computer on which you can access your Finley account
  2. A phone/tablet on which you will download the Microsoft authenticator app

Download and Install the Microsoft Authenticator App

iOS Version

To download for Apple devices, search for ‘Microsoft Authenticator’ on the App Store:

To download on Android devices, search for Microsoft Authenticator on the Google Play Store:

1. On a computer, navigate to the My Account Page and sign in using your Finley email address and password.
2. On the left side of the page, click on ‘Security Info’



3. Next, click on ‘Add sign-in method’



4. A box will pop-up with a dropdown list. Select ‘Authenticator app’ from the list and click ‘Add’





5. After clicking on ‘Add’ you will be presented with a popup box like the one below. Leave this for now, and switch to the mobile device on which you wish to set up the authenticator app.



6. On your mobile device, install the Microsoft Authenticator app by following the directions at the beginning of this guide.
7. Once the app is installed , open it, allow notifications when prompted, then accept the privacy policy



8. If prompted, click ‘Continue’ on the ‘Help us improve Microsoft Authenticator’ screen



9. On the next screen, select ‘Scan a QR code’



10. This will bring up a QR code scanner using your mobile device’s camera. Allow camera usage if prompted



11. Switch back to your computer, click on ‘Next’ in the ‘Microsoft Authenticator’ box. Then click ‘Next’ on the ‘Set up your account’ box





12. Using your mobile device, scan the QR code on your computer’s screen to link your account to the authenticator app. Then click on ‘Next’ on your computer



13. You will receive a code on your computer’s screen. Enter the code into the authenticator app then hit ‘Yes’ in the app




14. You will receive an approval message if successful. Click ‘Next’



15. You will be taken back to the ‘Security Info’ page and you will now have an authenticator listed



16. Now that the authenticator is linked to your account, you will periodically be prompted to enter in a code when signing into your Finley account
