This knowledge base article covers the steps to set up file syncing between File Explorer and teams documents within Microsoft Teams, as well as stopping sync of individual channels that may have been set up.
In the left pane, you'll notice that the teams that Aaron is
synced with have a folder that reflects the name of the team and then has "- Documents" after the name, and within that
folder are folders that represent the channels in the team. This is the desired configuration. This method of configuration will nest the channel folders into their respective parent team folder as opposed to having a parent folder for each channel that shows in the left pane of file explorer.
1. To get your file explorer set up like this, you will first need to navigate to OneDrive Settings and click on the Account tab. Once you are there, you will see an option to stop syncing the folders for each of the channels that you currently have synced. Select the Stop sync option.
Note: It may take a while for File Explorer to catch up with Teams, but the individual channel folders will be removed from your left pane eventually. If they are not removed, you can right click and Delete any folder that you wish not to be there.
2. Once you have stopped syncing for each individual channel, you can navigate to the General channel in Teams for the team that you would like to sync and then select Documents, just left of General.
3. From here you can select Sync.
4. When you do this all of your channels will be synced to File Explorer under a folder named the same as your team with "-Documents" after the team name.
